My most favorite thing about the internet is the WEALTH of vintage images that are available. Vintage lovers (people who love vintage things, not granny-aged smootchers) are generous people and seem to be happy to share their collections with those of us don’t have boxes of ephemera. Someone has put together a site to share her links to all things retro- it’s Retrolounge. I had planned to share some vintage images, but couldn’t remember where I had snagged them, but then recalled it was through a link at Retrolounge. There are categories for advertising, cinema, transportation, etc- but my favorite is Fashion! Here are a couple of vintage German catalog pages that I plan on using for sewing inspiration, love that dirndl look 😀
You can see more 1950’s catalog images here. For more vintage-y goodness visit Confessions of an Apron Queen!
I always enjoy fashion! There’s no way my tween
would wear these fashions. Adorable for little girls!
Love it! I recently got a large lot of vintage catalogs on e-bay. 1920s-1940s. They are fun to look at! Thanks for sharing!
For your daily dose of vintage goodness & a bit of silliness, stop by Confessions of an Apron Queen, the home of Vintage Thingies Thursdays.
This brings back memories of my mom making me clothes in the 1960s and 70s, I think that she made most of my clothes until I was in high school. I had a little shorts-jumpsuit a bit like one of the children in your picture.
I like Retrolounge too! It has some great things.
Thanks for sharing these great catalog shots, and for letting us know about Retrolounge. I will definitely have to check it out!
Those are such pretty clothes, I think that if my daughter had been born back then she would’ve loved them 🙂
During the 1970’s and 80’s there were lots of McCall, Simplicity and Vogue patterns and books around at home. Your post brings back fond memories.
I was just about to go to bed but now I know I’ll be spending some time at Retrolounge. 🙂
ooooh…thanks for the eye candy. Why didn’t you tell me about retrolounge before?!?
Tee hee….old lady smooching. I love ya Loral. Thank you much for the soap!!
